Cutting landfill methane — the biological route
Methane from decomposing waste is both a climate and safety problem. Restoring aerobic-leaning biology reduces it at source.

The methane problem
Organic waste breaking down anaerobically emits methane — a potent greenhouse gas and a fire risk at landfill sites. Engineering (capping, flaring) manages the symptom; biology can reduce generation at the source.
Shifting the balance
Re-introducing an active microbial population and forming a bio-film changes on-site conditions so that odour-causing and methane-generating pathways are suppressed. Toxicity from methane, H₂S and ammonia in mixed RDF is minimised.
Co-benefits
The same biology that cuts methane accelerates decomposition (weeks instead of months), improves worker conditions and supports ESG and Swachh Bharat reporting — one intervention, several wins.
And for Bio-CNG
Where biogas is the goal rather than the problem, dosing feedstock with OED at 1–2 litres per tonne has been observed to lift biogas generation by 20–30%.
